Lana has had the passion for dance since childhood. People around her homeland (NZ) as well as other parts of the world have had the opportunity to witness this passion. In 2006, Lana graduated from the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet after which she joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company during their season of Giselle. For the past decade, she has danced for professional companies all over Europe, focusing on ballet, contemporary and jazz.
She started in The Netherlands working with the Dutch musician/actor/singer/songwriter Herman van Veen and from there went on to work with Fusion dance companies De Kiss Moves and Massive Movement which also gave her the opportunity to tour and explore Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, and Norway with performances and teaching workshops for primary & high school students. For three years she was the lead dancer and face of Apassionata which is Europe’s most successful horse show. Lana also spent several weeks training with some of the world’s best dance teachers in New York City at Broadway Dance Center & Steps on Broadway and most recently she was a cast member in the longest running and most successful show in German history – Stars in Concert.
What better way to share your passion than to teach others to become just as good, or even better. With a bid to share her experience, Lana has spent five years at the Fafa Show Dance Academy in the Netherlands teaching Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Jazz. To back this up, she is a qualified Pilates instructor and has a Diploma in Sports Psychology as well as a Certificate in Business Management.
Lana comes from Christchurch and is therefore excited about sharing her knowledge and experience in the professional dance scene with the students at Flow Dance Academy.
I was lucky enough to attend workshops mentored by Lana Panfilow during my time studying at ABA. She was always my favourite guest tutor and I remember counting down the days on my calendar before the summer school would commence. Her choreography was inspiring and she worked with every dancer individually to ensure they got the most from the repertoire. She combined all styles of dance which was incredibly helpful when bridging my personal struggle from ballet to hip hop. Lana was not only a teacher but a great friend and mentor who guided me growing up in such a competitive industry.

Lana is the kind of teacher that takes great care in balancing fun and hard work in her dance classes. Because of her enthusiastic and cheerful personality and great teaching skills, she is one of the best teachers out there. I would definitely recommend her.

I started my ballet training with Lana at Fafa. I learned a lot from her lessons. And thanks to her I graduated from the Utrecht Dance Academy as a dancer/dancer teacher. I am thankful for all her advice and support, because she is a great dance teacher.
